Rachel Grant, Brodies' Co-head of Corporate Restructuring and Insolvency, was last night named the winner in the Services to Law category at the inaugural Scottish Women's Awards.

The awards, which celebrate the talent and achievements of women entrepreneurs, business women, professionals, civil servants and charity workers, were held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Glasgow. The finalists were shortlisted following thousands of nominations from their professional peers and the public.

Based in Brodies' Edinburgh office, Rachel is one of Scotland's leading insolvency lawyers and has specialised in corporate recovery and insolvency for over 25 years, working with a wide range of clients including insolvency practitioners, lenders, government departments, corporates, partnerships and individuals.

Rachel said: "I'm absolutely delighted to receive this award and honoured to be recognised by my peers in the legal, insolvency and wider business community. I was in tremendous company last night and it was inspiring to hear about the achievements of the winners and finalists and the very significant contribution that women in all walks of life have made, and continue to make, to Scottish society.

"I am lucky to work with such a great team at Brodies and would like to take this opportunity to thank my colleagues for their support and encouragement over the years, and the judges and organisers of the inaugural Scottish Women's Awards for this unexpected accolade."
