Brodies LLP has further strengthened its litigation department with the promotion of Laura McMillan to partner.

Laura is the firm's sixth new partner in 2017 and brings the total number of partners at Scotland's largest law firm to 95.

Laura joined the firm in 2010 and is based in Brodies' Edinburgh office.

She specialises in liability defence disputes, acting for insurance, corporate, public sector and individual clients.

In her role as solicitor advocate she regularly appears in courts, tribunals and high profile inquiries across Scotland.

She also delivers training to clients on claims defensibility, court procedure and witness familiarisation.

Bill Drummond, managing partner, said "I'm delighted to announce Laura's assumption to the partnership. She will also continue as director of our advocacy unit, building on the success of our top-tier ranked litigation team by providing expert advice and advocacy support to clients who are involved in court procedures."

Stephen Goldie, Brodies' head of litigation said: "Laura's combined skills and experience gained through her appearance work as a solicitor advocate in high profile cases and as a practitioner across all areas of liability defence has been a key element of our delivery of a high quality, cradle to grave service to clients."
