Hayley joined Brodies LLP in July 2014 and has a wide range of experience within private client having specialised in this area since 2005. She is focussed on building Brodies presence in the private client area in the West of Scotland but also maintains links with intermediaries and clients in central and in the East of Scotland given her previous experience.
Hayley provides advice and assistance to clients in relation to an array of personal legal matters including the preparation of Wills, Living Wills and Powers of Attorney, advice on tax mitigation and succession planning both in the business and family context, setting up and administering trusts, dealing with the administration of estates and providing advice in relation to asset protection and Inheritance Tax from both a personal and trust perspective.
Hayley has a particular interest in dealing with high net worth individuals and entrepreneurs and their families as well as winding up complex estates often involving family businesses.
Hayley is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and previously was a tutor in Property, Trusts and Succession at the University of Strathclyde and Family Law at the University of Edinburgh. Hayley was also a member of the legal staff at the Scottish Law Commission in Edinburgh and worked on the Trusts and Succession projects.
