Lydia is a bright, confident and committed family lawyer in Aberdeen. Her clients appreciate her pragmatic approach, her knowledge and understanding of the law, and her desire to secure positive outcomes for them, whether in financial or child related matters.
Born in the Western Isles, Lydia was brought up on the East coast of Scotland. She studied law and French law at Aberdeen University and Lyon University but after graduating was resistant to an office job and joined what was then Grampian Police.
She worked with Grampian Police for over five years after graduating from the University of Aberdeen with Honours. Lydia describes her time in Peterhead as a Police Officer as eye-opening and challenging and maintains that it prepared her well for her current post.
Like the rest of the Family Law Team, she aims to resolve the majority of her cases by negotiation. Skilled in negotiation, Lydia is also a qualified collaborative family lawyer and is accredited as a family law mediator. She is equally adept in handling contentious, litigated matters and frequently appears in Courts all over Scotland.
