Climate and the environment are key issues for the global business community, our colleagues and wider society. Our purchasing decisions, offices and ways of working all have an environmental impact. It is our aim to manage this impact by reducing our overall environmental footprint.

Our firm environmental policy sets out our expectations of ourselves and our suppliers. We have an ongoing responsibility to use resources efficiently, minimise waste and reduce our environmental impact wherever possible. In addition, we want to involve and support our colleagues in understanding how to champion positive change in their home and work lives, and the positive effects of those decisions.

In order to drive continuous improvement in our own performance, we have been gathering data on our environmental performance for a number of years. We have also been working with environmental consultants to expand that environmental data gathering and analysis across our business focusing on setting standards or metrics for performance, continuous improvement across our offices and monitoring progress towards those targets.

Our targets include:

  • continuing to reduce our use of energy, paper, water and other consumables across our locations;
  • further reducing our waste generation;
  • driving and improving colleague engagement on sustainability; and
  • engaging more widely with our communities on sustainability.

We will report annually on progress against the targets and objectives we set ourselves and will review and recommend changes to ensure our environmental policy, objectives and targets remain relevant and appropriate.

We have published our Carbon Reduction Plan in the form specified by the UK Government under Procurement Policy Note (PPN) 06/21 "Taking Account of Carbon Reduction Plans in the Procurement of Major Government Contracts"
