Leading Scottish and top 50 UK law firm, Brodies LLP, this week welcomed a Chinese delegation responsible for developing, coordinating, implementing and enforcing immigration law in China.
It was the first visit to the UK for the 24-strong delegation from the National Immigration Administration of China, following its recent establishment.
As a relatively new organisation; the purpose of the visit to Edinburgh and London was to learn more about UK immigration policy and enforcement.
Elaine McIlroy, employment and immigration expert at Brodies, said: "As the leading law firm in Scotland, we were perfectly placed to host the Chinese delegates during their time in Edinburgh. The visit was a unique opportunity for us to learn about the immigration systems in our respective countries and to hear directly from those involved on a day to day basis. We enjoyed the opportunity to meet and to share ideas collaboratively. Several topics were discussed. The delegation particularly interested in how the UK will continue to attract workers after Brexit."
