Latest Scottish government figures show Scotland’s food and drink industry has grown by 4.8% on the previous year and now has turnover of nearly £14 billion. The figures for 2012 show that the industry is in an extremely strong position, with growth of some £639m from the previous year.

Directors – Equality

In a letter to the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, Scotland’s Cabinet Secretary for Equalities calls for the transfer of competence for equalities legislation so that Scotland can be given further powers to deliver at least 40% female representation on public boards.

Energy companies – transparency on payments to governments

Hundreds of UK companies are to face tighter anti-corruption rules from 2015 under European efforts to increase transparency on payments to governments by the oil, gas and mining sectors. Financial Times article
