Employment

Much has been written about the impact of the fall in the price of oil on employment in Aberdeen. For those still in jobs, these are uncertain times, with many working harder and, in many cases, for less money. Some will be trying to come to terms with colleagues having been made redundant, whilst worrying about their own job security. How can employers engage, motivate and incentivise their workforce at a time when throwing money at the situation simply isn’t an option?

In an article which appeared recently in the Aberdeen Press & Journal, Fiona Morrison of Brodies’ employment team discusses this issue, offering practical advice on how employers can motivate their workforces in the current climate. Click here to read the article.

Fiona will also be leading a seminar on ‘Facing Market Challenges’ on Tuesday 24 May 2016 at Brodies’ Aberdeen office, and will explore issues such as:

  • Empowering survivors to take control of their career;
  • The importance of open and transparent communication; and
  • The significant role that line managers have to play in boosting employee morale levels.
