There is still ongoing difficulty with getting rig workers to and from the rigs as a result of the current grounding of the EC225 Super Puma fleet. There was an interesting piece on the front page of the P&J yesterday. It reports that both Transocean and Shell seem to be looking at ways of optimising the number of workers taken in each chopper. To do that they are looking at how they can shed weight…around the workers waistlines..! Have a look at the link. Maybe a case of “Safety and Health” rather than the other way round?
If you want to discuss H&S in the oil and gas or helicopter sector do get in touch.
