There’s lots of discussion about fracking at the moment.

As part of their statement “Scottish Labour will freeze fracking in Scotland“, Scottish Labour say:

“We want local communities to have full control over onshore fracking in their area through a local referendum. No development will be able to take place without a majority of local residents endorsing any planning decision”

This would set an interesting precedent, given that such a right is not extended to other controversial planning projects.
