Planning & Environment

Three pieces of good news for housebuilding in Scotland.

Planning permission has been granted on appeal for the housing developments at Old Craighall Road, East Lothian and Old Dalkeith Road, Edinburgh (neither are available on the DPEA website yet). Although both sites were called-in by the Scottish Ministers, in each case the Ministers’ decision follows the recommendation by the reporter. The Ministers’ intervention does not therefore appear to have made a difference to the outcome.

Also, the Court of Session quashed the refusal of planning permission for Ferrygate Farm, North Berwick. The reporter misconstrued the local plan policy about development in the countryside.
