Planning & Environment

The Scottish Government have announced a new £500,000 interest free loan scheme to help householders install green energy generating equipment. In some instances, no planning application will be required because of the permitted development (“PD”) rights for domestic microgeneration introduced in Scotland on 8 March 2010.

Interestingly, PD rights for domestic premises include free standing wind turbines and air source heat pumps, but those are excluded from the PD rights for non-domestic projects being introduced on 18 March.
