Planning & Environment

Delighted to have been part of the Ryden team producing the Planning for Infrastructure research report for the Scottish Government.

The recommendations described as “practical but yet ambitious” by Social Justice Secretary, Alex Neil, focus on:

  • action programmes
  • infrastructure costing and funding
  • cumulative impacts
  • section 75 agreements
  • development viability

There are significant practical difficulties in delivering development, especially in relation to education infrastructure. This report is a very positive step forward, identifying improvements that can be made from the earliest stages of the planning process.
