Craig Mclaren got a good plug in The Herald on Christmas Eve for the RTPI’s competition for Scotland’s best places. This competition has already provoked some great discussions about what makes a “good place”. Be sure to nominate your favourite.
Ironically, there was also a story about a restaurant in Edinburgh being asked to remove a cow sculpture from a listed building. It’s a reminder of the public perception of planning as a bureaucratic procedure that says “no”. That’s why the RTPI’s competition is such a good idea – it’s an opportunity to remind the public of what planning achieves.
Best wishes for 2014.
