At the weekend I finally got around to visiting Whitelee Wind Farm.
It’s just on the outskirts of Glasgow, so there’s no excuse really. It’s even got a visitor centre, with a cafe, so my children were able to have their second lunch of the day.
It’s vast – 215 turbines – the UK’s largest on shore windfarm. There’s over 130kms of trails for walkers, cyclists and horse riders, so there’s plenty of opportunity to explore and make up your own mind on the pros and cons of the development.
It is disconcerting to have the blades swishing over your head as you walk past the turbines!
