The Land and Buildings Transaction Tax (Scotland) Bill received Royal Assent on Wednesday, becoming the first Scottish tax Act in over 300 years.

The eponymous tax will replace Stamp Duty Land Tax in April 2015 for transactions involving land in Scotland (and transactions being discussed now may attract LBTT if they are due to complete in or after April 2015).

Our property and tax teams have issued a joint briefing with more information.
