Renewables

On 30 September we completed the project financing of a new 1MW anaerobic digestion plant at Carr Farm in Lancashire, advising The Co-operative Bank plc. This is the first time that an anaerobic digestion plant has been project financed in the UK, and we are very proud to have been involved in shaping the project and bringing it to fruition. The technology is maturing today so the real challenge was making sure that the fuel supply arrangements were robust, and a lot of time and effort went into developing that aspect of the contract documents.

There are a number of interesting developments in this sector, and I will comment on unlocking funding to the bio energy sector shortly.
