New permitted development rights (“PDR”) have been introduced for non-domestic renewables projects. PDR permits development without the need for a planning application.

Interestingly, these do not include free standing wind turbines and air source heat pumps, despite those being included in the PDR for domestic microgeneration introduced in Scotland on 8 March 2010.
