At Brodies, we value regular meaningful conversations between colleagues and their line managers. These quarterly check-ins are an opportunity to talk about development, progression, wellbeing, and expectations, making sure everyone feels supported and heard.

These conversations also help keep short-term goals on track while building towards longer-term ambitions. They give colleagues clarity on how they can contribute to the firm’s success and what steps they might take to grow their careers. It’s also simply a chance to check in and see how colleagues are doing.

For us, learning never stops and we offer outstanding in-house training in technical and other essential skills, with ongoing support from within each team. We provide dynamic opportunities for development and ensure that colleagues at all levels are involved in interesting client work.

We have teams and individuals across the firm dedicated to providing continuous professional development to our legal and business services colleagues.

Our learning and development team oversee the provision of professional development across the firm, running several firmwide programmes for legal and business services colleagues, people managers and leaders. As well as working in partnership with each area to deliver bespoke learning solutions.

Working alongside our learning and development team are our practice development lawyers who lead practice area training, our digital skills team who deliver learning in digital skills and business assurance team who lead on regulatory training.

Each team is here to help us build the skills we need to deliver excellent service to our clients, and to empower all colleagues to be the best they can.
