Getting things done for clients and making sure I add real value with the work I do.

We all help each other within and across teams, and I make a conscious effort to build strong relationships with colleagues throughout the firm. There’s always an expert at Brodies willing to support me, no matter the problem or question.

Kyle Gardner, Solicitor

Which of Brodies five values resonates with you most and how do you incorporate it into your daily role?

Collegiate – this is one of the best things about working at Brodies. We all help each other within and across teams. I try to maintain great relationships with different colleagues across teams – there’s always an expert to help me at Brodies, no matter the problem or question.

Apart from the necessary skills and knowledge, what other quality is essential for the role you perform?

The ability to genuinely connect with people and understand what motivates them and what they are looking to achieve.

What's your top tip for someone keen to pursue a similar career?

Never self-screen yourself out of a career because you don’t look or sound like the other people you see. All organisations need a range of personalities and backgrounds to be at their best.

What three things can you not live without to do your job?

  • My team
  • A big monitor
  • Lots of bulldog clips
