Real Estate in Scotland: What does 2025 hold?
Real estate never stands still. 2024 saw the prohibition on direct emissions heating systems for all new properties come into effect and the introduction of a new Land Reform Bill and Housing Bill. 2025 will see those Bills progress through the Scottish Parliament alongside new Bills dealing with Heat in Buildings and the termination of leases of commercial properties. The infrastructure levy plans have been suspended by the Scottish Government but a new building safety levy is in the making for certain residential developments.
