The UK ETA scheme: What HR need to know

The ETA scheme will require individuals who don’t need a visa to come to the UK (non- visa nationals) to apply in advance for permission to travel to the UK. It already applies to some nationalities but from 27 November applications will open for US, Australian, Canadian and many other nationalities meaning that its reach will be far broader. They will need to have an ETA to travel from 8 January 2025. Applications for EU and EEA countries will open from 5 March.
