We act for hub South East on its extensive health and education design and build programme, which includes the innovative £60 million school development at Winchburgh. This includes two high schools, a primary school and shared facilities on a single site.

Hub South East Scotland has been responsible for projects with a total value of £633 million as part of Scotland's £3.257 billion hub delivery model. Our legal experts have advised on most of those projects.

We continue to be involved with both new build design and development projects (DBDA) in addition to providing operational advice on hub South East's design, build, finance and maintenance (DBFM) portfolio.

Key highlights

  • We advise hub South East Scotland on day to day issues on projects currently in construction and on operational projects, for example in relation to the impact of the outbreak of Covid-19. 
  • This £70 million East Lothian Community Hospital DBFM project is the largest in the country and is delivered across four phases on the site of the old Roodlands Hospital in Haddington, Edinburgh.   
  • Royal Edinburgh Hospital (Phase 1) is a £45 million project and the first part of a masterplan redevelopment for the campus. It and included new accommodation for the adult acute mental health inpatient service. 
  • The £40 million Queensferry High School is being delivered by hub South East for the City of Edinburgh Council will include a 6 lane swimming pool, 3G sports pitches and state-of-the-art modern educational facilities.
