There are two new pieces of legislation which HR and legal teams should be familiar with as they impact on how employers respond to harassment complaints at work.

The Worker Protection (Amendment of Equality Act) Act 2023 will come into effect in October and in Scotland, the Hate Crime and Public Order (Scotland) Act 2021 came into force on 1 April 2024.

We used this short session to take you through these and work through any considerations for policy and practice. We also took the opportunity to remind you of our top tips for investigations involving serious harassment and potential criminal conduct.
