We take a look ahead at the key HR, employment and immigration issues for 2022 on our new Workbox page: 2022 HR to-do list.
This page will be free to view, even if you don't have a Workbox subscription, until the end of January.
High on the agenda will be ensuring continued compliance with up-to-date COVID-19 risk assessments and the relevant government guidance.
Aside from COVID-19, the government's proposals for 2022 include:
- making the right to request flexible working a ‘day one’ right
- introducing one week's unpaid leave for carers
- introducing a right to request a more predictable contract after 26 weeks' service, for those without a fixed working pattern.
Also, look out for a new duty on employers to take reasonable steps to prevent sexual harassment in the workplace; new immigration routes and an amended process for right to work checks.
