Achieving Scotland's target of net zero carbon emissions by 2045 will require change and innovation throughout the economy. Food production is a key contributor to carbon emissions worldwide and increasing the sustainability of our food is going to be a challenge in coming years. The development of a food system based on low-carbon production and increased demand for sustainably produced food creates significant opportunity for Scotland's food and agricultural sectors.
