On 1 March 2023, the UK Government's Department for Business and Trade (DBT) launched its new website aimed at providing support and assistance to businesses across the UK.

The DBT's Help to Grow page is part of the UK Government's wider commitment to economic growth and its aim is to provide a one-stop-shop for businesses; providing access in one, easily navigable page, to advice and guidance that was previously spread across a number of different Government sites. In its press release introducing the new website, the DBT set out that an area of particular focus in preparing the new website was the desire to support the UK's 5.4 million small businesses.

The four key headings under which information is shared on the new website are:

  1. Starting a new business;
  2. Growing an existing business;
  3. Starting to export and sell internationally; and
  4. Accessing direct support from the UK government, e.g. help with energy bills, accessing finance, funding and employment advice, and government training and employment schemes.

The site also provides a specific link for Scotland-based businesses, which also provides access to the search facility for support available to businesses across Scotland.

Please don't hesitate to get in touch with our Government and Business team if we can assist you in accessing UK or Scottish Government support for your business.
