Brexit: the IP dimension

EU rules and institutions play a particularly prominent role in intellectual property law, yet for some (surely unfathomable) reason the key players in the Brexit referendum debate have not spent much time discussing IP issues.

Fortunately, Brodies IP partner Gill Grassie has stepped into the breach. Having previously been quoted on the issue in the Herald's Cloud Computing & IP supplement, she this week had a piece in the Journal (with an edited version also appearing in the Scotsman) that explains the EU's influence in IP matters.

That piece mentioned the EU's new Trade Secrets Directive, on which Gill was last week quoted by Scottish Legal News following the formal adoption of that measure.
