Pictures can tell many, many words.

The Law Society of Scotland has produced a short video which neatly encapsulates the importance of and issues connected to a power of attorney. Here it is:-

We can help you, your family, loved ones and business colleagues make sure decisions can be taken about their affairs, from finances to investments to property to welfare, if illness or accident results in lost or diminished capacity. A good power of attorney can be the most important document that someone signs and has ready in reserve for when it may unfortunately be required. If ever needed, there will be great relief that a power of attorney is in place meaning anxiety over complex legal process will be something that can be put to one side and allow focus on other matters.
