On 25 July 2019 the Planning (Scotland) Bill received Royal Assent and became an Act. It’s been a marathon.
The Independent Panel was appointed in September 2015, almost 4 years ago. While the 2006 Act made wide-ranging changes to process, the 2019 Act is less radical. The plan-led system remains intact, but with some significant changes to development planning.
