We are very much looking forward to returning to the Royal Highland Show in person in June. This year will be an extra special celebration as it's the 200th anniversary.

There has been key developments in the rural sector since we were last at the show, including: advanced discussions regarding Land Reform, the introduction of The Scottish Register of Persons Holding a Controlled Interest in Land; and proposed reforms to residential tenancy evictions rules to name a few. It has of course been a challenging couple of years and so it will be fantastic to be able to once again connect in person with our clients and contacts from across the sector where we can discuss the changes in greater detail.

We are delighted to announce that we will be hosting our annual reception event at 15:30 on Friday 24 June. We will be proceeding with an afternoon tea, which will be a welcome break from the hustle and bustle of the Show and all it has to offer. This event will take place in the President's Marquee which is one of the newer spaces. We've been hosting an event at the Show for many years and it is always a brilliant platform to connect with the wider rural community, so make sure you come along and grab a glass (or two) of fizz or indulge in some of the other refreshments.

Did you know?

The first Show was held in 1822, on the grounds of Queensberry House in Edinburgh’s Canongate where the Scottish Parliament building now stands.

The Royal Highland Show is a mainstay fixture in the calendar for everyone involved in the rural sector in Scotland and across the UK. It demonstrates all of the best and unique aspects of the community, covering everything from retail to livestock – there really is something for everyone. It provides the opportunity to meet with a diverse group of producers, farmers and everyone else working at the coalface.

We will shortly be issuing invites for this event and very much hope to see you there.

If you have any queries about this event or rural business in general, please contact Ryan Bowie or your usual Brodies contact.
