Over the last 20 years, a huge amount has changed in terms of the size of the firm; we were only in one office in Atholl Crescent when I joined and there were about 120 of us, but our ambition has never wavered.
I have been fortunate to be involved in the expansion of our business into new cities and new premises and have also played a key role in the recruitment and development of our people. In my 20 years at Brodies my role has changed significantly, and I think has kept pace with the changes that the business has gone through – I have definitely been kept on my toes. From a team of two, I now have a team of nearly 20 people engagement specialists and that expansion and growth is reflected in every practice area and business services team across the firm.
When asked what my favourite thing about Brodies is, I am, of course, going to say the people, but I genuinely enjoy the daily interactions I have with colleagues. We've all been challenged and stretched over the pandemic, but I have seen us all pull together, I've seen our values in action every day and through all of this we have managed to keep our sense of humour. Over my 20 years we have retained so much of, and built on, what makes Brodies great, and I am excited to see what the next chapter in our story brings us.
