Brodies LLP, Scotland's largest law firm has been named legal team of the year at the 6th annual Scottish Property Awards.

The firm's real estate team picked up the award at a ceremony last night (28 February) at the Doubletree by Hilton, in Glasgow.

The accolade comes after an exceptionally busy 12 month period during which Brodies has supported its clients in the delivery of deals worth in excess of £2.5 billion, covering all sectors of the Scottish real estate market from investment and development, to retail, hotels and leisure, including working with many of the businesses, and assisting with the projects, that were nominated for awards this year.

Commenting on the award, Brodies' head of real estate, Johane Murray, said: "We continue to be very optimistic about the Scottish market and the opportunities it provides, which has been demonstrated by our clients over the last 12 months. It is with thanks to those clients and their ambitions that we are able to receive this award.

"The real estate market in Scotland's central belt has been particularly busy, and we're also seeing positive signs in the North east and Highlands, serviced by our teams in Aberdeen and Dingwall respectively. By immersing ourselves in the different sectors of the real estate market and actively engaging with participants across those sectors we have gained considerable knowledge and insight, allowing us to give our clients the most informed advice. Our network of relationships also enables us to create opportunities for clients and partners and contribute to the success of the industry."
