Brodies has been awarded a gold ranking in the 2020 World Trademark Review's list of the world's 1,000 leading trademark professionals, for the seventh consecutive year.

WTR1000 focuses exclusively on trademark practices and practitioners and is an independent ranking of "outstanding" firms and individuals across 60 countries, based on a rigorous research process involving interviews with hundreds of clients and trademark specialists.

The research directory describes Brodies as "the leading Scottish IP practice" and commends the team for being " efficient, punctual and willing to chase clients when required to keep the momentum going on an instruction."
Along with a firm ranking, Associate Andrew McWhirter has received an individual silver ranking for his expertise in enforcement, and is noted for his "excellent technical knowledge of trademark law" and ability to display this knowledge and expertise to those outside the legal profession.

Commercial services Partner, Grant Campbell, is also a recommended individual in the transactional IP category and receives specific praise for his "cutting-edge regulatory knowledge".

Commenting on Brodies' rankings in the new guide, Partner Grant Campbell, said "Intellectual property is often the most important and valuable asset for a business and there is much satisfaction to be taken from supporting clients in protecting and enforcing their rights, helping to maintain and enhance the value of their product or business. We're also fortunate to have a legal system here in Scotland that is highly accommodating for those who are looking to enforce IP rights and resolve disputes.

"Being ranked again among the elite of trademark professionals is testament to the commitment of the team, as well as the support of our clients, who involve us in matters that are interesting and challenging".
