Brodies LLP has been named Scotland IP Transactions and Advisory Firm of the Year, the fifth consecutive year it has secured an award from Managing IP.

The accolade, which recognises excellence in innovation and specialist intellectual property work, was awarded at the Managing Intellectual Property European, Middle Eastern and Africa Awards ceremony at London's Savoy Hotel last night.

Now in its 14th year, the Managing IP Awards are the highlight of the global IP calendar.

Winners are selected by Managing IP's team of editors and researchers, based on research gathered during its IP Stars survey, as well as recent market developments and client feedback.

Brodies' IP team has undertaken projects over the past year for a number of clients, including businesses specialising in media, defence, energy, life sciences, marine and medical equipment.

Grant Campbell, Head of Commercial Services at Brodies, said: "The past 12 months has been a busy period for our team, as IP is fast becoming the key linchpin of most businesses and a valuable asset which requires protection.

"We're thrilled to have our IP work in Scotland recognised by Managing IP for the fifth consecutive year.

"To be named Scotland IP Transactions and Advisory Firm of the Year is testament to our clients for continuing to engage us to support and protect their business interests and intellectual assets.

"We've worked on a number of new and interesting projects and we're looking forward to doing more of the same in 2018."
