Alasdair joined Brodies in November 2016. He is a corporate lawyer qualified to advise on both Scottish and English law and has experience of advising clients ranging from start-ups to multinationals across a range of sectors, but particularly those active in the energy, advanced technology or financial services sectors. His work has included advising:

  • an international oil services business on the UK corporate law aspects of its group reorganisation and demerger;
  • a Norwegian oil services company on its acquisition of a UK-based specialist engineering business;
  • an investment fund on the sale of its portfolio of UK onshore wind farms in operation and development across England and Wales;
  • a major UK energy company on the sale of its interests in an operational offshore wind farm project to its joint venture partner;
  • a construction company on the sale of its interests in a series of UK public/private infrastructure projects;
  • a US based client on the establishment of Scottish limited partnerships for the purpose of structuring an acquisition in Europe;
  • a spin-out from a Scottish university on the sale of its business and assets to a US Fortune 500 company; and
  • the sellers on the sale of a Scottish-based life sciences company to a multinational life sciences business by way of an auction process.
