Chris is an Associate in the oil & gas team. He joined Brodies from a global services contractor, where he spent more than four years’ working in-house as a contracts engineer within its legal department.

He has significant experience qualifying, drafting and negotiating high value service agreements and maintains a strong working knowledge of the LOGIC suite of contracts. In addition to Chris' in-house legal experience, he has developed a strong commercial understanding of contracts and has driven a number of initiatives in order to identify areas of exposure and opportunity within larger projects.

Chris has developed a sound understanding of drilling contracts and decommissioning liabilities. He has worked on a due diligence project on decommissioning liabilities, and has assisted with the preparation of advice notes regarding decommissioning security arrangements and onshore well liabilities. He has a good understanding of the Master Deed process dealing with licence assignments including drafting Execution Deeds and more traditional licence assignments and novations.

Chris also has experience carrying out commercially focused internal audits on significant contracts, managing international risk and compliance matters, and he has accreditations in Project Management and Project Controls.
