He also regularly deals with disputes over property ownership, the obligations of landowners and questions of contractual interpretation.

He has been involved in a number of Sheriff Court and Court of Session actions, appearing in the sheriff courts and working closely with Counsel in the Court of Session. David also has experience of the Scottish Land Court and the Lands Tribunal for Scotland as well as Alternative Dispute Resolution processes such as mediation, arbitration and expert determination.

David has acted for clients including local authorities, landowners, property investors, individuals, landlords and tenants. During a six month secondment to the Scottish Government Legal Directorate in 2017, David acted on behalf of the Scottish Ministers and their executive agencies including the Keeper of the Registers of Scotland.

David works closely with Brodies’ in-house Advocacy Unit and is regularly involved in the preparation of court pleadings, legal opinions and court appearance work.
