Iain Baird

Iain has over 15 years’ experience in the energy sector acting for a variety of developers, landowners and funders advising on all real estate aspects covering a variety of technologies including wind (offshore and onshore), solar, battery, hydro, biomass and other emerging technologies. He is a key member of Brodies’ Renewable Energy Group and regularly works in collaboration with other teams of lawyers to deliver these projects.

His experience includes: advising both landowners and developers in relation to option agreements and leases for proposed renewables developments; conducting property due diligence on operational and non-operational renewables assets; advising borrowers and funders on the project financing of renewables projects; and advising on all other real estate matters including access and cabling rights.
