Matthew is part of our personal law team, based in our Edinburgh office. He assists individuals and families with their personal matters to ensure they are well-protected and structured in a tax efficient manner. This includes advice on all aspects of estate planning; asset protection; trusts; wills and powers of attorney; and executries. Matthew also advises trustees and manages the ongoing administration of a wide range of trusts.

Matthew has a particular specialism of working with clients to protect their intellectual property rights and offers bespoke advice, from an estate planning perspective, on their unique asset classes. This includes advising literary clients and literary estates; musicians; and artists. Matthew also works closely with our Dispute Resolution and Risk practice to help resolve contentious trust and estate disputes.
