Mhairi is a senior solicitor (New Zealand qualified barrister and solicitor) in the Risk, Government and Compliance team, based in Edinburgh. Mhairi joined Brodies in 2025 following practicing in the regulatory environment litigation space for international and regional firms in New Zealand.

Having previously represented and advised a range of local authority and private clients, Mhairi brings experience in contentious and advisory criminal, civil and regulatory law. She previously specialised in environmental prosecutions for local government, and can provide insight into enforcement and compliance on a range of issues, while also having had experience working on privacy, employment, and refugee and immigration matters.

Mhairi has appeared before the New Zealand Environment and District Courts and has assisted with matters before all of New Zealand’s senior courts. Mhairi has published legal writing and was the co-Chair of the Resource Management Law Association youth branch in Wellington.
