Nicola has specialised in Family Law since 2008, and was accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a specialist in the area in 2016.  She advises clients on a broad range of family law issues including separation, divorce, cohabitants’ rights, pre-nuptial agreements and child related issues such as residence and contact disputes, adoptions and the Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction.

Nicola has a particular interest in financial provision on divorce cases and has successfully negotiated many favourable financial settlements for clients. In cases where recourse to court is necessary, she has experience of dealing with cases both in the Court of Session and the Sheriff Court.

Clients have commented that they appreciate Nicola’s work ethic, approachability and support.

Nicola is trained in Collaborative practice and is a member of Consensus. She is also a member of the Family Law Association for Scotland, and previously sat on the Association’s Committee for a period of three years.  Nicola has also tutored in Family Law at Edinburgh University.

In her spare time, Nicola enjoys playing various outdoor sports and spending time with family and friends.
