Richard Pike

Richard is a dispute resolution lawyer with over 15 years' experience of acting in complex and high value claims. He has particular expertise in private wealth disputes, including litigation over inheritance, trusts, landed estates and tax. He also has considerable experience acting in professional negligence claims related to private client issues, and in acting as an independent trustee in contentious trust and inheritance cases.

Richard acts for clients throughout the UK and internationally. They include High Net Worth individuals, professional trustees (offshore and UK), financial institutions, other professionals, and charities. He has a strong reputation for private client litigation throughout the UK and is Ranked Band 1 in Chambers HNW 2024. Richard is English-qualified and prior to joining Brodies was a partner at a UK National firm.

Richard has completed the University of Law Diploma in Contentious Trusts and Probate and is a full member of the Association of Contentious Trusts and Probate (ACTAPS).
Richard is an active member of the Contentious Trusts Association (ConTrA) and an affiliate member of the Society of Trusts and Estates Practitioners (STEP).
As well as representing parties in dispute, Richard has considerable experience acting as a professional trustee for private family trusts and estates. He also has experience volunteering as trustee and director of a local charity.
