Ryan is an accredited specialist in agricultural law and has been involved in a wide range of contentious and non-contentious agricultural law matters as well as high profile cases in the Scottish Land Court and Court of Session.

Ryan regularly acts in the sale and purchase of estates, farms, country houses and forestry. Ryan acts for both domestic and international clients who have property interests in Scotland and works with clients to assist with their succession planning, farming structures and providing advice as a 'trusted adviser'. He also represents landowners in renewable transactions, with experience in both wind and hydro schemes.

Ryan has practical farming experience too, running his own farm in Perthshire, allowing him to keep abreast of developments and their application in practice.
