Ryan is a trade mark attorney, specialising in UK and international trade mark protection, enforcement and brand strategy. He has advised some of the UK’s best‑known brands across the full lifecycle of brand management – from clearance and wide‑ranging global filing programmes to opposition and enforcement work. He also regularly supports clients on the trade mark aspects of high‑value corporate transactions, including complex, multi‑jurisdictional M&A.

Ryan also contributes to the development of trade mark practice in the UK through writing and sector engagement. He sits on the committee of the IP Inclusive Scotland Network, and has written on brand and IP issues for The Scotsman and CITMA Journal.
