Susan is a member of our Personal and Family team.  She joined Brodies in July 2016, qualifying as a Scottish solicitor in July 2017.
After initially practising both private client and family law at Brodies in line with her previous foreign legal experience, Susan now specialises in private client work.  Her family law experience nevertheless continues to inform her succession planning advice to clients, particularly as regards asset protection.  Susan has a broad range of experience in all aspects of succession planning, incapacity planning and executry administration, and has a particular interest and expertise in matters spanning the areas of private client, family and business law.  She advises clients on a range of matters, including wills, powers of attorney, guardianships, trusts, estate administration, business succession planning and inheritance tax mitigation.

Susan is also qualified as a barrister and solicitor in British Columbia, Canada, where she practised in the areas of private client and family law for almost seven years following her call to the Bar of British Columbia in May 2008.  This, together with Susan’s studies in France as part of her law degree and her interaction with clients and solicitors from around the world, has given her a keen interest in matters having an intra-UK, European or international element.

Susan is committed to providing excellent client service and to providing clear, pragmatic advice in a timely and non-legalistic manner.
