On 20 June 2019 the Planning (Scotland) Bill completed Stage 3, and will become an Act in about a month’s time. It’s been a marathon. The Independent Panel was appointed in September 2015, almost 4 years ago. While the 2006 Act made wide-ranging changes to process, the 2019 Act is less radical. The plan-led system remains intact, but with some significant changes to development planning.

In this seminar we will discuss the final provisions of the Bill and explore the implications for planning authorities, developers and communities.

Speakers/panellist at the event will include:

  • John McNairney, Chief Planner, Scottish Government
  • Fiona Simpson, Assistant Chief Planner, Scottish Government
  • David Leslie, Chief Planning Officer, The City of Edinburgh Council
