Tell us about your role
As a Bid Coordinator, I help retain clients and win new ones through procurement processes. My role spans the full tender process, including research, drafting, design, stakeholder collaboration, pricing, and process improvement.
What do you enjoy most about working at Brodies?
The people, the culture and working on projects I find interesting, both in the UK and further afield. I feel valued at Brodies, and I’ve made lifelong friends here.
Why did you choose to work in bids?
I call it a happy accident! I left school when I was 16 unsure of my path, starting in financial crime before moving into banking. In 2019, I joined a law firm in a junior bids role, learned from great mentors, and moved to Brodies in 2022. Six years on, I’ve found my niche—every day is different and exciting!
Apart from the necessary skills and knowledge, what other quality is essential for the role you perform?
Knowledge and experience make up 30% of what is required for success as a bids coordinator. The other 70%... people skills.
What three things can you not live without to do your job?
- Coffee
- A strong, stable internet connection
- Spotify
If your desk could teleport anywhere in the world, where would you work from today, and why?
Drop me in Ballater, in the Cairngorms. It’s simply my favourite place in the world.
