English charity law update

This webinar was delivered by Stone King's charity law team and focused on recent changes to charity law in England & Wales, including:

• the new rules on “ex gratia” or moral payments, which completed the Charities Act 2022 changes, plus a look back at the overall reforms intended to reduce administrative burdens on charities now that they are complete;
• the new Code of Fundraising Practice, which came into force in November 2025, and other updates in fundraising regulation;
• changes in charity governance, including updates to Charity Commission guidance and to the Charity Governance Code – plus whistleblowing by trustees; and
• other key legal changes affecting charities, including tax and SORP updates, and the new “charitable purpose” soft-opt in for direct marketing.
