In 2018, Ocean Advocate and Veterinary Surgeon, Cal stand up paddleboarded the entire length of the UK, a world first expedition from Land’s End to John O’Groats and a trip that gained her a World Record. The purpose of the expedition was to investigate plastic pollution. However, having recently lost a close friend to depression, Cal was also raising money for mental health charities, and spending up to 20 hours a day, for two months, on the ocean played a special role in healing her own grief. Cal began to discover how important that personal connection to nature is for mental health, and in driving a desire to protect our ocean.
This webinar contains stories of resilience from her adventures, the importance of connection, and how we can all nurture and master an endurance mindset to tackle everything from our personal work load to a global crisis.
